Northern California Game Day (Any DMs out there?)

I don't know if we'll have the time to do two seperate sessions (although they did in the Chicago Game Day... somehow...)

We've worked through five/six gamedays now and found two slots 9:30-2:30 and 4:00-9:00 works out (on a Saturday) with the game store's schedule (they are very accomodating for us, admittedly). Crothian's Ohio Gamedays work a somewhat different schedule, so hopefully he'll drop in and give you his feedback also. A lot of it depends on the people who own the space, and what the attendees find fits in their own schedules. If the first time it is just three games it shouldn't be a problem doing one, nice, long slot and just relaxing through some roleplaying. You might even want to keep some extra pre-gen chaarcters at each table in case someone dies in one game and wants to jump into another! :)

That sounds good. So I'll be DM'ing "The Whispering Woodwind" at one table. Is anyone here willing to DM another D&D adventure, or a HackMaster (or other non-d20 system) adventure?

Joe has confirmed (call him HackJoe) to run a HackMaster table. I'll get a total body count (GM/player/system) and post it here as soon as I can. Word just went out in the wee hours of this morning.

I was just perusing the Chicago Game Day threads and I think meeting for breakfast would be awesome! Is there any place in Sacto close time-wise to the game shop that is noted for its breakfasts? Any favorite places that can handle 20 or 30 people barging in at 8 AM?

PS: Hey reapersaurus, thanks for the instructions. Haven't tried it out yet, but it looks simple enough. :D

Breakfast would be awesome, but 30 people? I expected a number closer to 15: Three GM's, twelve players (four for each game).

Where'd the other 15 people come from? Just how many friends do you have, bloodymage? :)

Hmmm... To limit the additional number of people to 15, reaper would have to leave half his posse in the tour bus... :D

It's OK. He's got an X-Box in there, though he often disputes the formulas inherent in the games and demands clarification from the programmers before he'll take the game off of pause... :p ;)

Heh heh heh

To clarify, I didn't mean we had to limit it to 15 people, I just meant that I expect about 15 people.

By the way, let's make it a rule that people who want to sign up have to post in the thread- that's what they did in the Chicago Game Day thread (I think), and it seems like a good idea.

It was the Chicago organizers' contention that with paid events people have a money commitment and are less likely to back out (causing difficulties for those who commit and show up). With a free event, we felt the least someone could do is register on a board and personally post that they are coming. It helps to weed out the "Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll be there" (one week later) "Did I miss it again?" folks (and helps the GMs better set up their games for the proper challenge levels)... :)

Great Escape Games is right near Howe 'bout Arden, which has sooo many restaurants around, it's kind of ridiculous.

As for Breakfast Fare, I'd recommend a restaurant a couple miles away, ... damn, forgot the name of it. I'll mention it later.

Mark- I'm kinda baffled by your funny sounding comment, but the arguing about the formulas that a game uses is pretty close to the mark. (pun intended)
You think I could meta-game some knowledge about Jarlston and mess up some NPC plots with this module of yours we're using? ;)
just kidding.

I'm still wondering what you might have sprung on us had we had a PC jump in that .. oh, I'd better stop. :D

:D Love the irony, eh? :D

This one is pretty straight forward hunt and chase. It'd be hard to damage it without simply arguing rules for no reason other than to argue rules... ;)

As I recall the PC fell in that... OK. I'll stop, too. :p
