Notes on the Aether (Rae judging)

"Sorry, Tommy," says Keldar. "Henceforth, I shall treat you with the respect due your lofty position. Incidentally, why do wizards walk funny? Is it because of their crystal balls?" He pops out of the fireplace momentarily. "I think you should have a go at putting that other device back together. But fill the bag with water instead of earth."

OOC: About half of Keldar's ideas are good.

Galwynn rolls his eyes at the "Crystal Balls", and then looks at Keldar quizically. Without saying anything, he leans in slowly, reaches out... and brushes some burnt eyebrow off Keldar's face.

"Looks like you weren't entirely fast enough, thief." he says, that sad smile on his face once more.

He then turns to Tommy. "Just destroy the thing, and ignore the thief. The last thing I want is a rock golem getting in my way."

Keldar protrudes his lower lip and blows upwards. "Elemental ash, I think you'll find, Smellwynn. Uh - don't damage the fixtures, Tommy, no matter what he says. Thyrin's gratitude might be lessened. If you can't puzzle out how to make them work for us, let's just make sure they don't work at all. Shame, though. Keldar's elemental army has a nice ring to it."

"I never knew you were so interested in wizards balls Keldar."

"Did you think to ask Cassandra if she knew of some device to generate the spark that would disable the devices? For the safety of visitors and the wizard perhaps?"

Keldar stands up and bumps his head on the fireplace. "Ow. I'm a lot more interested in paladins' mounts." He emerges, looking bedraggled and grimy, and leans on Thyrin's sofa, where he leaves ashy handprints. "We generate sparks, don't we?" he says, waggling his eyebrows.

"There is a difference between paladin mounts, and mounting paladins. Right Galwynn?"

"I take it you didn't ask Keldar? Perhaps I should."

Rapture walks back to Cassandra. "Pardon me m'lady, do you perhaps know of a device that generates sparks to allow us to disable the generators?"

"A difference I hope to s- where's she gone?" Keldar follows after. "I can handle the traps. Trust me. Rapture!" Keldar sighs. "Look, see, I'm completely untouched."

Galwynn watches as Rapture leaves, and shakes his head in wonder. "You like her, don't you?" he asks. For a second, it almost seems as if he's talking to himself, before he looks up to the ceiling. "You never cease to amaze you. Keep throwing these characters at me, and I just might convert. I'll do it, just you see."

Then, when he thinks no one is looking, he smiles to himself, and then covers it up quickly with a stern image.

Hefting his claymore over his shoulder, he says loudly "Let's get going, and soon. I don't like the idea of giving them a chance to surround me."

Cassandra shrugs helplessly. "A device that generates sparks? Surely you don't mean flint and ste- Ah, an electrical spark. To disable the summoning devices, of course... Besides myself and magical items, I know of no such thing. Thyrin may have something up in the laboratory, but I'd have to look and obviously, I can't. Sorry."

OOC: What, like a battery operated spark plug? What is this, 1898? =P
