Notes on the Aether (Rae judging)

It's fine, I'm moving slower than I'd like.

With the trap in the fireplace disabled, Keldar pulls up on the catch in the back, revealing a little alcove in the firepit. The alcove contains, much like the dais, several candles and a bag, only this one contains (as Tommy predicted) gray ash. The candles are not melted, either the stone somehow protects them from the heat or they are magically treated. Keldar gathers up the materials and tosses them out of the fireplace. He suddenly notices that the ashes beneath him were becoming uncomfortably warm, and they've just now instantly cooled off.

Upstairs, standing guard around the corner, there's an earth elemental just waiting for someone to slam.

March order, please. And roll initiative for me, too. I'll try to get a decent map up this weekend.

"Oh, I know that," says Keldar, relieved. "Listen, you four, don't go wandering off by yourselves without me to look after you. Anything could happen."
At the back of the group, with only a limited view ahead, and with his head filled with goodness knows what nonsense, the unthinkable happens - Keldar is slow to react to danger.

OOC: Initiative 1d20+7=9; Galwynn in front of Tarag, I think.

The second floor is a stark contrast to the coziness of the first. The floor is stone, before you lie piles of clutter; wood, stone, and lots of pieces of metal, all of varying sizes and shapes. Amid the clutter are vaguely humanoid sculptures made out of the materials at hand. On the far side of the room, an orange glow emanates from behind a large black shield wall. You suspect that the furnace lies behind it, but right now you have a rogue elemental guardian to deal with.

Initiative:

Rapture
Tarag
Tommy
Keldar

Movement on the stairs costs double.

Taking in the situation, Tommy will try to do as many of these things as space and time allow: 1) squeeze to the side of the stairway to let Keldar and Rapture into the fray, 2) draw his wand of missiles, and 3) use it on the earth elemental, if line of sight permits.
