Bright sunny day, probably 75 F and it's only 9 am here. Ocean can be heard through the bank of open windows in my round house, and I can see the waves curling out on the coral break at sea. OH, what's that? Yes, a pod of whales. It's winter in Hawaii, after all.

And, yeah, I got coffee, too. Mmmm, coffee!

I understand, I've lived here 23 years myself. But I think you'll find that some people in other parts of the world, would not find 60F to be a cold winters day.

And for some reason they get annoyed when you phone up someone (say my mother) who lives elsewhere (like Minnesota) and give them the local weather forcast.

I wouldn't want to live in Hawaii as the ocean level starts to rise. I think the Valley of the Sun is pretty safe, we're surround by high mountain ranges.

There is a part of me that longs for the open sea though as well as another part of me that longs to live near vast open spaces and a nother part of me that longs to live in a dense city. Thats too many parts of me. :\

Hmm, CBC reports a high of -13C here today. That's about 8 or 9 for everyone in the States. Mind you, I moved from California 1-1/2 years ago, and I don't mind the cold weather at all.
