[NWN] EN World Server -- Getting to the Underdark

I must be missing something really basic, because I can't get to the underdark.

Here's what I did:
I put my staff of Anduin on the glowing symbol on the temple ruins.
NWN told me that it broke and that I should hurry to the doors.
Some trolls attacked me but I ran around them to the doors.
The doors were closed and I got a "locked" message.

I don't see a broken staff in my inventory.

I went through the catacombs to the mummy room. Went to the door between the rakshasas and the duergar. And was unable to open it. Had to run away from the flaming swords (again).

Am I missing something here?

Any help appreciated.

I know the areas you are talking about. I also have not been able to get through the door between the duerger and the rakshasa - but then I also didn't have a broken staff. I used to have a whole staff, but lost it (either stolen by etherial filchers or lost on death - don't know which). I have just gone and got myself a new staff, broken it, and am all set to try the door again. I suspect that you will have to get your self a new staff and break it before you will be able to pass that door.

The glyph on top of the temple will break the staff and open the doors...

You DO need the broken staff piece for the door guarded by the firebrand swords in the halls of the dead...

It sounds to me like you are on the right track. There are SEVERAL different creatures in the game that steal items from you.. even right in front of the door in question... Maybe thats what happend to your staff(broken staff?)

In any case if you dont have the broken staff piece you will most likely have to find another staff. You are on the right track. Good luck.

I've gotten to the Underdark with 3 seperate characters, and I know that's how you do it : )
