Nymph's Kiss and Arcane Spellcasting

Does the +2 circumstance bonus on Charisma related checks given by the Nymph's Kiss feat from the Book of Exalted Deeds (pg 44) extend to a Bard or Sorcerer learning spells? i.e. Could a Level 4 Bard with Charisma 10 and Nymph's Kiss cast level 2 spells, or just the cantrips?

A bonus to Charisma checks is NOT a bonus to the Charisma /score/. After all, to get an additional +2 on Charisma checks, you'd need to get a +4 bonus to the score. It's the difference between a Cloak of Charisma (enhancement bonus to Charisma) and a Circlet of Persuasion (bonus to Charisma checks and Charisma-linked skills).

The point being, spell level access is based on the Charisma SCORE, and is not a check.

Right. A Charisma check is an ability check, and an ability check is "Roll a d20 and add your ability modifier".

Cha-based spellcasting is Charisma-related, but doesn't involve "Roll a d20 and add your ability modifier". Bonuses to Charisma checks are irrelevant.

On the other hand, it will increase Turning checks.

On the question of this feat, does the +2 charisma bonus only extend to fey?
Does the +1 saving throw bonus vs spells and spell-like abilities only extend to fey?

The start of the feat states "Fey creatures regard you as though you were fey."
So, I read this as the bonuses (except for the skill points of course) only apply to fey.

Cheers
