OA's while phasing...

This is a quite simple question... can you provoke OA's if you are phasing? In other words, if you phase and move, can the enemy OA against you? We've looked everywhere to no avail...

Yes.

Phasing does not make you immune to OAs, and you trigger immediate actions accordingly.

That includes if you're trying to phase -through- them--when the OA occurs, you're still in the square that you left, so they'll target you in that square; a fighter can stop your movement that way, etc.

Yea wow. I have played that wrong for sure - my assumption was that if you could pass through other creatures, even "obstacles" via phasing, how could a weapon hit you - but it looks like only shifting, teleports, and forced movement are immune.

On the other hand, if you sink into the ground while moving past the enemy and pop out on the other side, they can't do anything. Phasing lets you do a lot of fun things like that.

That's a very liberal reading of Phasing. Vertical movement is not something that has a lot of support in the current 4e rules.

Besides, moving down would still be leaving an adjacent square and would still provoke.

Of course, then it's the total cover and total concealment that would prevent the OA from triggering, not the phasing. Also, you may need to shift as you sink down into the ground to avoid triggering an OA before the cover and concealment apply.

Yep, the big thing to remember is that OA's are triggered by LEAVING a square.

So, if you and a wraith would be adjacent to one another were it not for a wall, and they phase through to move next to you on your side, no OA will trigger. (You had no LOS or LOE to the square where they started their move.)

Phasing doesn't affect attacks at all. Phasing only affects where you can move. (Insubstantial applies versus damage and often accompanies phasing but not always and still wouldn't prevent any attacks.) You can still be attacked as normal while phasing. If the designers wanted you to be able to avoid OAs or other attacks while phasing, the ability description would say something about that.
