Once again, thanks for all the kind words. ;-)
Oathbound represents a huge effort on our part to bring out a world that can be dropped into any campaign setting (ala Planescape, Ravenloft, and a few others) while still having the legs to be a dynamic campaign setting in its own right.
Much of the book was written by Greg Dent. Todd Morasch and I wrote small sections of the book and came up with a number of the concepts of how the world works, its secrets, etc. along with Greg.
The adventure (Dark Welcomes) was written by Brannon Hollingsworth and Ken Marable, and it takes up a 64-page chunk of the book. I thought it important to include an adventure in the core setting to give people a taste of how to build adventures in Oathbound. You'll see future Oathbound themed adventures (approximately one per month) delivered over the Bastion Press website.
The first adventure we'll release is Waters of Akaya. It will be a free download. We'll then follow up with new adventures, approximately one per month or so, that are closely tied to the Oathbound world.
A lot of my work with this project was as creative director (the same job I had for the D&D worlds, Alternity, and other products at Wizards/TSR). I'd steer the writers back into good gaming territory and offer advice on how to overcome obstacles.
Again, I'm looking forward to seeing some of you at Gen Con...
