Obligatory 1,000 Post Thread!

Well, I've hit 1000 now.

Some highlights of my time at ENWorld so far:

Meeting so many of you at Gen Con this year. I'm really looking forward to next year and meeting even more of you, y'all make Gen Con so much more wonderful.

Some very lively discussions about new Battlestar Galactica.

Talking with people who have radically dissimilar viewpoints on aspects of gaming, but still manage to have a reasonable and sensible discussion with them (a breath of fresh air, these boards are so generally nice and mostly friendly compared to so many other places).

The initial impetus for me going from unregistered Lurker to actually posting (WotC changing the d20STL at about the same time BoeF came out).

Finding "Eric Noah's 3rd Edition News" on a net search for anything about 3e after it was announced.

Realizing one day, years later, that there really were lots of message boards beneath that front news page, and there was really neat stuff going on in there.

Hearing fascinating information from people like Monte Cook, Mike Mearls, Charles Ryan and the man himself, Gary Gygax, realizing that in earlier ages just how limited our flow of information was from people inside the business, and being very thankful for having these folks around.

Trying to figure out if Diaglo or Crothian are real people, or just AI's that post a catchphrase and post to every thread that comes up (respectively). Yeah, supposedly I met Crothian at Gen Con, but was it really him :D

Having people quote me in their .sig, that always gives a little smile when you see that.

Being the first web site I actually cared enough about to pay money to :)

Being one of the few web pages I check every time I get on the net, along with cnn.com, bbc.co.uk, fark.com and my gmail account.

Here's to the next thousand!
