D&D 5E Obojima: Tales from the Tall Grass

Now on D&D Beyond.

As a backer who's still waiting for my physical books -- and isn't getting a free D&D Beyond version -- I have mixed feelings about this.

I do think the setting deserves to be widely seen. I suspect a lot of groups will really vibe with it, especially new-to-D&D folks who aren't committed to Lord of the Rings style adventures.

The physical books aren’t far off apparently. Here in Australia they’re just going through customs, so probably another couple of weeks.

I honestly don’t know if the pdf is out yet. I tend to wait until the physical copy is out, reading that is so much more satisfying…

You should have the PDFs, plus a Free RPG Day adventure, in the digital downloads of your Backerkit account. But yeah, I hear you on wanting to page through the book in person.

I had to buy this on DDB - the setting is too gorgeous and amazing. It might be some time before I get to run a campaign in it, but in the meantime I get to enjoy it.

I hope someone makes miniatures to go with it - the art is spectacular!

For those who are wondering: it seems to be fully integrated in terms of creatures being available in the encounter builder, maps ready to go in Maps, etc.

Currently on sale for $29.99; regular price is $39.99.

This looks gorgeous. I definitely regret not backing it during the KS. At least it looks like it will be available for the general public soon.
Although I am not enthused about how long it's taken to reach the backers -- something I suspected would be an issue, with the stretch goal creep during the campaign -- so far, I can't argue with the resulting material.

How does it go with g rated themes that you might expect from Miyazaki? Kicking down the door style is not what you want.

It's not about kick down the door play at all. It's cozy fantasy where the big threat to the setting is fixing the balance between the spirit and material world.

There's also mechanical support for being an apprentice witch with a flying broom learning your trade, to reference another non-door-kicking movie.
