Obscure deities - Lekena and Moon Goddess?

BOZ

Creature Cataloguer
I have figured out where just about all of the gods from Wikipedia's List of Dungeons & Dragons deities came from initially. I tried looking on Google, but I can't tell what books these two came from - can anyone help?

Lekena, god of light

Moon Goddess, goddess of amazons

To my knowledge, I've catalogued every deity in every edition of D&D prior to 4E (that has any sort of expository information), and I haven't seen anything with a deity named Lekena.

I do wonder if the Moon goddess is "Moon" from the American Indian pantheon in 2E's Legends & Lore, as she's a god of, among other things, women. I admit that's a stretch though.

Moon Goddess, goddess of amazons

I wonder if that could be a reference to Artemis? I seem to recall some stories of her being a patron to Amazons and that might be referenced in a D&D book somewhere where they didn't want to call her by name (perhaps in a Dragon or Dungeon article/adventure).

Since they were added without a source, they are probably either a hoax or from someone's home campaign. If no source can be found, they will have to be removed from the list. I'll go through the edit history and see when they were added, and maybe I can contact the original editor who added them. The crazy thing is that because people copy info from Wikipedia to their own websites all the time, when you Google "Lekena, Moon Goddess" you get a bunch of people who just copied the whole list.

Worth looking, but a dead end:

Lekena was added two and a half years ago by a random IP who made no further edits.

Moon Goddess was added in March 2008 as part of a much larger edit - again we have another IP who hasn't edited since then.

Unless someone else comes up with a source, I will be removing these two. It's always amazing to me how much false information or misinformation can slip by on Wikipedia for so long. :\
