Obscure Easter Egg/Deity Reference Made in a 3.0 FR Product? (Into the Dragon's Lair Spoilers)

I was looking over this recently, and I think I found an implicit reference to Vecna in an early 3e Forgotten Realms product. Into the Dragon's Lair describes

on pg. 28 a cleric named Tanner Kventhen who worships a god going by the moniker of "The Whispered One". Vecna is known to have such an alias. And by Tanner's description and picture on pg. 29, he clearly looks the part of a Vecnite cleric.

To my knowledge, the Whispered One isn't mentioned in any other FR products. Anybody know if this match between the Whispered One in the module and Vecna is correct? And has anybody done anything more with it?

I don't remember seeing that, but what a cool reference! It certainly wouldn't surprise me that it's there; as I recall, that adventure also name-drops
