Rage Walker was in the third monster manual for 3.0/3.5 IIRC.I have never even heared of these things.
Good news! Xvarts were in 4e… -ish. They got renamed to Xivorts but its them underneath the extra vowel! Both the xvart and the blindheim have appeared in every edition except (as far as I can tell) 4th Edition. The 5th Edition blindheim is in Mordenkainen's Fiendish Folio, Volume 1 which, to be fair, might not be considered to be particularly official, even though it was published by WotC.
Eh close enough. Both the xvart and the blindheim have appeared in every edition except (as far as I can tell) 4th Edition. These originally appeared (IIRC) in BECMI as the "blackball:"Hm. I don't remember the name of it, but in the Epic Level Handbook for 3e there is a sentient sphere of annihilation. It's special attack is to start annihilating the atmosphere, which creates a vacuum like gale drawing everything into the sphere. I've used this at the end of Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil since it looks like one of the symbols of the imprisoned god Tharizdun. I made it draw all the PCs into the sphere, but instead of destroying them it transported them inside Tharizdun's prison... which I decided was Ravenloft.
Edit: Ah, it's open content. It's an umbral blot
They're also in the official 5e product: Mordenkainen's Fiendish Folio Volume 1, so they also exist in this edition.Another vote here for the Eye of Fear & Flame. Loved using them in 1E.
I have seen them in at least one monster manual since, but for the life of me cannot remember which one.
Cheers![]()
I don't have that volume though, so I know that I have seen them somewhere else. They're also in the official 5e product: Mordenkainen's Fiendish Folio Volume 1, so they also exist in this edition.
