Obscure RPGs

Oh gawd. Of those mentioned I have, used to have, or have played ...

Ravenstar
Macho Women With Guns
Extreme Vengeance (and the supplement, Die and Die Again)
Pandemonium
Noir
Bunnies and Burrows - only have the GURPS version
Powers and Perils (and some expansions)
Bushido
ALBEDO - used to have it. Still have some of the comic books
Teenagers from Outerspace - got it
Maelstrom - first RPG I ever owned. Have two copies
Legend Quest
Spawn of Fashan
Over the Edge
Principia Malefex
Fifth Cycle
World of Synnibarr
Super Squadron
Hunter Planet - don't have it, but have played it
Manhunter
Alma Mater
Quest of the Ancients

I'll add:

Dragon Warriors - fun fantasy RPG published in 6 paperbacks. Still has one of the best pseudo-Europe settings I've seen

Monster Horror Show - by the creator of the Grailquest choose your own adventure books

Dark Town - couldn't tell you a thing about it

Heaven & Earth - looks interesting in a Twin Peaks kinda way.

Price of Freedom - Better Dead than Red, baby!

Those Meddling Kids - Scooby Doo, the RPG, only without licensing

Shattered Dreams - you play dream warriors who fight the nightmares. Had a goofy d12-based mechanic.

There are more than 100 more on my bookshelves.

I've got so many in my collection (mostly boxed up) it's scary.

Golden Heroes
Superworld
C.O.R.P.S.
Universe
Space Opera
Phoenix Command
Cyborg Commandos
The Foundation (ugh!)
Other Suns
Buck Rogers XXVc (again, unnngh!!)

And those just off the top of my head. I'm sure if I get to digging, I'll pull up some more gems along these lines.

The most obscure one I own is probably:

So You Want to Be a Rock and Roll Star

(might be "wanna be", I don't have it in front of me). It's exactly what it sounds like: an RPG based around the concept that the PCs are members of a garage band trying to make it big. There are rules for gaining fame and advancing your career, but there's also all the typical task resolution and combat stuff you'd expect in an RPG. The expectation is that the band will have adventures of a more typical RPG variety while trying to advance their careers.

I've always wanted to run it, but nobody was interested.

Looking over at my shelves, I have:

Ironclaw
Waste World
Street Fighter
Mekton
Immortal (both editions)
Gate Crasher
Wizards (based off the movie by the same name)
Metascape
Shatterstar
Duel

and many others already mentioned.

Ooh, I have Albedo and a couple supplements for it.
Lace and Steel
Diana, Warrior Princess
CORPS
Everway
Furry Pirates
Fuzion
Nephelim
Ironclaw
Tribe 8
Theatrix

Some weird RPG about a fantasy world with superheroes, where everyone had wings :) I never can remember the name of it.

I have Waste World and Wizards as well. Gee, I wonder why I couldn't remember those two....

Oh man...Space Opera!! I remember a friend of mine got that for christmas wayyyyyy back in 1983 or 84. We never got around to playing it but it was really cool to have something that wasn't basic D&D.

Anyone remember Hunter Planet? That's another Australian RPG.
Yep! Played it at MacquarieCon in Sydney (in the mid-eighties?) with the author as the CM (David Brugman???). Utterly brilliant... Unfortunately, the rules were but a tool in a masters hands and didn't shine as brightly in another's... more's the pity...
