Yeah, Great weapon master is tempting as well, but clearly I can't afford the -5 to hit.

In theory it works nicely with the champion improved critical, but that hasn't come into play yet :(

I thought about Lucky, since my rolls have been pretty poor, and considered sharp shooter, in part because I'd originally envisioned her primarily as a ranged weapon expert. But I have the same reservations about the -5 as TallIan. Ended up deciding on Dual Wielder. Gives Q an AC bump in melee (which MIGHT have helped her when Ohlm went after her)

Can't attack twice with it, I don't think. Point 3 reads:

When you use the Attack action and attack with a one-handed weapon, you can use a bonus action to attack with a hand crossbow you are holding.

I guess a hand crossbow is a one-handed weapon, though, but it seems to me to imply melee, but doesn't say. So a bit unclear. Technically he can ignore loading requirement, so he could fire, load, fire.

Well in our face-to-face game we decided that it meant that as the Hand crossbow is a one handed weapon that you could use your Bonus action to fire an additional shot in a round but that you had to have the other hand free to load. I am cool with that ruling in this game also going forward.

Lucky is certainly nice, but I think over time, the extra +1 AC and +1 to hit is better. Lucky just gives you the choice of passing more when it really matters. It's a bit like burst damage vs steady DPR. certainly

Mechanically I suppose it makes no difference if you have one hand crossbow and shoot twice or two hand crossbows each shooting once, except in a few rare cases, like having one hand restrained. Unless you do believe, and enforce, that the RAI is to make a melee attack not an attack action.
