I noticed the dire elephants +10 climb check too.

Which means this creature the size of a house can climb up typical dungeon walls with no problem.

Hmmm...
"You walk into a large hall, immense pillars are reaching up in the darkness, supporting an unseen ceiling.
Make a spot-check!.
hmm.....you spot a dire elephant clinging to the pillar next to you.
Oh, it just let go...!"

-rolls for damage as a dire elephant falls on the players-

Now that poor halfling does not stand a chance.

Something just as odd .... did you see that the Dire Elephant has a Climb Speed of 10 !

Sure, why not - it's a classic joke.

"How does a Dire Elephant get to the top of an oak tree?"

Now, normally, the answer is "Drop a Quaal's Feather Token (Tree) at his feet and wait for it to grow", but if the designer of the Dire Elephant stat block didn't know that, maybe he improvised...

You know what else is disturbing? The octopus Jet[Ex] ability doesn't say anything about it being limited to underwater movement...

Nor, indeed, the Ink Cloud ability - which has no duration listed. So one can only assume it lasts until negated... and being (Ex), it's not subject to Dispel Magic. And it's a free aciton once per minute.

You can just picture a school of rogue giant octopi, jetting round the countryside and covering the landscape with 20' cubes of non-magical darkness.

Or better yet - half-celestial giant squid! With wings!

Sure, but as we all know, Elephants can only climb up. So if they want to get down, they must sit on a leave and weit for autumn.
