OD&D Editions ... which one is the best?

I want to make a Retro One-Shot with one of the old D&D Editions and I wonder which one would be best since there are so many of them all with their own little differences. For Example the 74 Edition without Supplements doesn't have a Thief (which could make a very interesting session) and all weapons did the same damage, but seems to be surprisingly complete.

If I remember right than these were the existing Version ... which one should I choose and why?:

Original Booklets without Supplements
Original Booklets with Supplements (many new Rules and Classes)
Blue Booklet (the one with only three levels, was also reprinted in the 25 Anniversary Edition)
Erol Otus (was there an Expert set for this Version?)
Red Booklet with Expert Set
Rules Compenion

If I forgot one, please tell me...

Yes - this is Moldvay 1981 Basic, the blue Expert book for this is by Cook & Marsh. IMO this is the best version of classic D&D for an experienced GM. Mentzer Basic is best for a complete neophyte.

there is only one Original Dungeons and Dragons. all the other editions are just poor imitations of the real thing.
