This movie is a 'sequel' of sorts to Superman I and II, that's why the Fortress and the spaceship (which is NOT baby Kal-El's ship) look familiar.

The ship looked so similar, I just thought it was some sort of flashback image. I don't know much about the story line...who's ship is it?
