D&D 5E Official Locathah Playable Race Released

To help raise money for the Extra Life charity, WotC has released a 39-page PDF adventure called Locathah Rising, which also includes the locathah as a playable race. Locathah are fish-people. You can pick it up for $9.99.

Maybe, but without something unique, even if it's a drawback, what would be the point of playing this race? It's just a bunch of non-game-changing bonuses otherwise.

If game races are just bundles of points to be exploited, then perhaps there is no point.

I love all the comments on why a locathah PC just wouldn't work, along with a deep sigh and some eye rolls.

Certainly not for every campaign, but a fun choice for the right style of adventuring!

Locathah artificier with a decanter of endless water? Now that does sound fun!

It almost like if a GM wants a heavily themed aquatic campaign, then this is a race that not only fits, but its disadvantage is more like keeping track of a bodily function. Well, needing to stay wet is a bodily function, but you know what I mean.

You could. And if you don't, I will be very disappointed in you.

+2 STR, +1 DEX, Natural Armor 12+DEX, Proficiency in Athletics and Perception, Advantage on saves vs charmed, frightened, paralyzed, poisoned, stunned, or put to sleep, must be submerged every 4 hours or you suffocate (eeep!), 30 ft walk/swim.

Suffocating after 4 hours on land is pretty limiting for a character.

I would put a fishbowl full of water as a helmet!!! Jokes aside pretty neat!

I have a notable degree of fish phobia, so even fictional fish are kind of gross. But if you like them, knock yourself out, not in my campaign though!
