If one was to watch the entire official Star Wars onscreen (movie & TV) saga in the order in which the story takes place, would it look like this?

  • Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace
  • Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
  • Star Wars Clone Wars
  • Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
  • Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope
  • The Star Wars Holiday Special
  • Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
  • Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
  • Star Wars Ewok Adventures: Caravan of Courage
  • Star Wars Ewok Adventures: The Battle for Endor

I was initially going to leave out the Holiday Special, but though George Lucas pretty much disowns it now, he did commission it from CBS (i.e. it wasn't a fan-made project). Also, all of the principal actors/actresses from A New Hope except for Sir Alec Guinness (Obi-Wan Kenobi) and Kenny Baker (R2-D2) reprised their roles in it - even James Earl Jones returned as the voice of Darth Vader. All that is way too significant to simply dismiss.

In any case, will the two upcoming Star Wars TV series take place in between Episodes III and IV?

HA! That's funny...

There are TWO TV series in the works. One is a contiuation of the Clone Wars animation, though no story or time placing has been started. The other is the Live Action show that will be between III and IV.

As for the timeline, looks about right.
