OGC Settings?

Spirosblaak has very clearly stated that their intent is for the setting to be totally open - names, dieties, everything. I haven't looked at the declaration in the book, though, to see how clear it is where it counts... :)

As I said in the original post, Murchad's Legacy is another one. Although their legal text is a bit messed up, they pretty clearly mean that everything is OGC. It seems that actually saying so in plain language in the OGC designation is a bit hard for them, having failed to do so twice...

I am not familiar with Freeport or Bluffside or any other "pretender" (or SpirosBlaak, for that matter). Which is why I'm asking.

Let me ask this question, out of curiosity.

What are your plans/needs for OGC setting?

You are clearly aware of a couple of examples already (such as SpirosBlaak) do they "not work" for you?

I am asking mainly out of curiosity.
In a thread about forming an OGC Wiki the issue of OGC Settings came up. I don't intend to post or support posting any of these settings into such a resource, not without the publisher's expression desire to this effect, but it got me thinking.

I once run Murchad Legacy as my campaign setting. It was nice, in that I could legally write up everything on my website. But I still felt constrained in that I didn't want to include too much, as I didn't want people to use my site instead of the book.
A FREE 100% OGC setting would alleviate this problem. I'm thinking of starting one, as a pet project, even though I suppose there are hordes of them or attempts to start them. I'm aiming for a generic setting here, something you can fit any FR or GH adventure into with ease, something that will easily accomodate a "standard" campaign.
SpirosBlaak and Murchad's Legacy both seem too focused and unique to really serve as generic campaigns even if I did not feel bad about making them free.

I meant start completely from scratch.

Build it as we go.

I know of Murchad's Legacy and SpirosBlaak, and was told Freeport, Bluffside, and Second World also qualify. Anything else?

I don't think Freeport is 100% OGC. The first adventures were open content. Green Ronin tightened things up a bit in later releases, though. I'm not sure where the line is drawn now.

However, Freeport has appeared in a number of other worlds, Arcanis coming to mind.

I know. And I'm thinking on it.
But that's a topic for another thread... so I'll open one.

I just open more and more thread recently. :)

I esd considering turning Urbis OGC once I publish it, or at least use a variant of the OGL limited to gaming publications.

But first I want to make sure that the setting is actually fit for publication. Until then, the question is moot.
