OGL Question: Can I Use Maglubiyet?

My question is quite simple, but I seem to find the answer evasive  : Can I attempt to publish something using Maglubiyet, the patron goblin deity, or will I have to write up an entirely new deity for my green skinned warriors? Their are no written up statstics on Maglubiyet to the best of my knowledge, but their is plenty of fluff, which is what I'll be utilizing.

If you can't use his name, you can refer to him as the "Chief god of the Goblins"

Monte Cook's Queen of Lies adventure is all about drow ... instead of Lolth/Loth he uses "The Spider Goddess"

Yup, his name and fluff is off limits. That's okay, though; just create a variant priesthood and refer to him obliquely, creating fluff that might fit as a worshipped aspect of Maglubiyet.

Thanks for the quick responses. That's unfortunate that he's off limits, but the solution sounds easy enough. After all, it's not too hard to create a Lord of the Depths and Darkness type god :) .

joe b's quick and fast rule for OGL material from WoTC: Get the SRD. Merge it into 1 file. Do a search for what you're looking for. If it's not found, it's not usable.

There are exceptions (like the open stuff in Unearthed Arcana), but it's probably going to be right 99% of the time.

An alternate name

A member of my group picked up a collection of OGL Spells, and one of the spells referred to the chief god of the gnolls as something like Yeenurhaaga, except with an even more absurd and unpronouncable spelling.

Perhaps you might use that well-known chief god of the Goblin pantheon - Maklubylekt.

Considering how different the same word can be even in closely related real-world languages, it almost offers more veracity to have an alternate spelling/pronounciation to a given power in different regions.
