Oh great. I'm a werewolf.

Here's an idea for an interesting lycanthropy cure from the Dark Shadows 1897 storyline that is currently running on the SciFi channel:

The infected werewolf has their portrait painted (or perhaps it was commissioned by an unknown benefactor or adversary). The portrait is magical - when the full moon next rises, the change from man to beast does not occur, but the portrait is now that of the beast. When the sun rises, the portrait returns to normal.

The portrait could have other magical properties, like grant eternal youth/life (like in The Picture of Dorian Gray).

I wouldnt consider were-affliction to be magical in nature. A were-wofl wouldnt radiate magic in my world and even if the rules say otherwise I would allow shapeshifting while in an anti-magic zone.
Yes, but try explaining that to your forsaker when he starts growing claws and fur:D

Demiurge out.

This has an easy answer. Buy ranks in 'Control Shape' THere you have it. A free template, and you control yourself in alternate forms. You are now a badass.

Anyone else handled playing an afflicted lycanthrope? How'd ya do it?

I had two different psionicists in 2nd edition who contracted lycanthropy- which stops all use of psionics. (I can't recall if it was a house rule or actually in the psi-guide, but I suspect the latter.)

The first character- I gave to the dm as an npc. It was his first adventure in an existing campeign, and I was rather annoyed.

The second character went out and got it cured. Of course, he was so self-centered he never though to suggest to the other players that the wolves they fought were lycanthropes.

The poor other pc who had contracted it went on quite the rampage. heh.

Except that any voluntary change on the part of the afflicted permanently changes his alignment to that of the lycanthrope, in this case a werewolf, which is always Chaotic Evil.
