didn't they also use that special adhesive to hold the 1edADnD books together?

And solidified, they made it into dice. I rolled my old d20 last year, and I think it still hasn't come to a stop.

Remember:

In the 70's, we had Sex, Drugs, and Rock 'N Roll.

In the 80's, we had AIDS, Crack, and Michael Bolton.

More like:

In the 80's we had AIDS, Crack and Madonna!

In the 90's we had Crack, Clinton and the start of the Reality Show addictions.

What font is that "Herpetic Gigalo"?

They gave the mags a bit more hip Design, and people bitched, they dumbed it down, and people bitched, now they are doing whatever the hell they are doing, so I guess we should bitch.

So I guess I should say Im pissed or something. I'll wait until I have it in my hands. Its not like I bee-bop around town showing of my dork magazines, now Ill just have a little more impetus to hide them.

Anyone know the designers name? Or was this Design by committee?

I'd be interested to see more from the twisted mind that cooked this up, it mightve actually been hip in 99-00. oh well better late then never.

Well, definitely not Michael Bolton - the overwhelming majority of his singles were hits in the early 90's, not the 80's.

But for a description of the 80's, I'm personally more fond of:
"Wheel of Fortune" , Sally Ride, heavy metal, suicide, foreign debts, homeless vets, AIDS, Crack, Bernie Goetz, hypodermics on the shore, China's under martial law, Rock and Roll, The Cola Wars, I can't take it anymore!

Back on topic, I'm with those who suggest the look is mostly irrelevant, as long as it's functional and full of good content. Although - if they wanted to make all the D&D magazines (and core books and....) look like the packaging stuff from Zork, that would be completely awesome.

Goes to show that Torm likes Michael Bolton..........

I like his stuff too.

I sorta like the retro 50s style printing done on comics and magazine ads.
