Nah, I've never used a Tolkien name for any of my characters. Although I've looked at Tolkien names for certain styles in name creation. The sound of it, etc.

I started playing D&D in high school. It so happens that my fellow players frowned upon such naming methods. So I was conditioned not to ever go that route.

In a current game my friend is running, we have a player who always names his characters, "Spawn".

I meant to name my first character aragorn, but I messed up and called him argon (I was 9 at the time) So instead of a Tolken name he was named off the periodic table of elements.
