Okay, now I'm worried...

I was really looking forward to that Class Compendium that rendered the PHB classes into Essentials form. I have been really digging what WotC has been doing with the Essentials line. However, if they're going to cancel products I think were well...essential to Essentials, or worse yet--stop supporting it altogether--then I am disinclined to continue investing in the game. WotC's silence on the issue, even amid all the recent internet buzz about the impending demise of the game (or even the company!) serves only to increase my worst suspicions.

I want to be wrong on this, but I can't help but grow a bit worried for the future of the game I love..

If you love the game then I don't see why you'd stop supporting it because they aren't bringing out some products you might want.

IMO it's simple, if WotC brings out a product you want buy it, if you don't want the products they're releasing then don't buy them.

After all it's not like RPG books are like a MMORPG where they can turn the servers off on you.

I would give WotC the chance to get their act back together after having just returned from the holiday break before hitting the panic button.

for all we know the product is going to be redone under a different title, repackaged with other content, or as simple as a change to softcover instead of hardcover.
without info, it's hard to say if the cancelled products won't see the light in some other form or not.

Right. If they closed up shop today, I could still play, indefinitely.

Another 'Panic! The sky is falling! I withdraw my support from the game' thread ... brilliant! Love 'em!

I was also very interested in this 'bridge product'.

But to be honest noone knows why it no longer appears. It's anyone's guess. So my guess, which is as good as anyone else's is this:

They are doing some major editing on the book because they have come up with a better idea on how to do it. This will take some time and has pushed back the release schedule to a yet unknown date.

There. Said it. My flag has been placed in the sand!

Yeahhhhhh...

Like others say, buy what appeals to you and don't buy what doesn't- that's he best way to tell WotC what you want from them short of sending them letters.

And besides, just because something gets delayed or removed from a release schedule...maybe they'd rather they get it right and release it later than getting it out right now.

But i want it now so I can complain about all the errata it gets because they rushed it.

It has been stated before in the other thread about this but the 4th season of Encounters materials for organizers states that the Class Compendium has been delayed and will not be available in time for the 4th season.
