Old Edition Magic Items?

From AD&D DMG, there's a couple of artifacts and the Potion of Longevity, as I recall.

There'll be more...

From Unearthed Arcana (1st ed), there are a few +6 swords (+6 Holy Avenger, for example). The 9 "final word" swords (you go last in the round but automatically hit anyone that hit you that round, subject to your number of attacks that round) are also there.

From the DMG, the infamous girdle of femininity/masculinity. :)

Also, there were various "protection" scrolls (from demons, etc.) that were not spells as such, and could be used by anyone that could read, except druids.

Some weapons were similar to "bane" weapons but had wider conditions like "+1, +2 vs. large creatures", that sort of thing.

I don't know what made it into 3.5 but I don't recall seeing any of these in 3.0, from the 1e DMG...correct me if I'm wrong, please:

Potions: [Dragon-Giant-Human-Plant-Undead] Control; Longetivity; Sweet Water; Treasure Finding; anything else that is not a direct replicant of a spell

Scrolls: Protection From xxxx; Cursed Scroll

Rings: Contrariness?; Delusion?; Multiple Wishes

Sticks: Wand of Enemy Detection; Wand of Metal and Mineral Detection

Miscellaneous Gype: Gauntlets of Ogre Power, Girdle of Giant Strength (both are different enough in 3e to qualify here); Girdle of Fem-Masc; various cursed items?

Artifacts: most have been watered down or changed considerably.

Armour and Weapons: Defender-type weapons?; Sharpness/Vorpal weapons?

From UA, did any of the various "Anything" items come forward?

God, I forgot all about those. They were nifty little items, and good to give away to lower-level parties - one-shot items that had significant power but wouldn't break your game. Big fan of 'em.

I cannot for the life of me understand why they removed the potion of longevity from the game. It is such a staple of fantasy, IMO. The aged wizard trying to cheat death in various ways.

Sure, it didn't come up too often as vital PC kit, but it made for interesting treasure-sales when found. Add the rumour that it was made from Elf liver (or some such) and the players are faced with at least a minor quandry.
