Old Games That Should Be Remade

TheAuldGrump

First Post
I was over on the Firaxis site and saw the advertisment that the were creating a new version of Sid Mier's Pirates. A game that I played on four different computers over the years. (And will no doubt buy in its new incarnation as well...)

What other games would folks like seeing remade?

For me the top would have to be XCom a game I kept my old computer for, just to play it from time to time. No other game has had the rplay value that the campaign system had of varying missions, increasing tech, and soldiers that gain in experience. Plus the combat system was really nifty, making the program basically a miniatures campaign on the computer.

The Auld Grump (On the other hand what happened to Master of Orion 3.... shudder...)

I shudder to think how screwed up Master of Magic would be, if it were redone...

And MOO3, while a cool concept, left me feeling cold (AND out $50... dang, should have waited for the "you buy it for $28, and we'll send you a $30 rebate...)...

I love almost everything that KOEI put out on the NES...particularly Unchartered Waters. I had a copy of it on my PC as well...but I can't play it anymore as my computer is now, I assume, to fast. It played well on a P 100. :)

Oh yeah...

Let me say this...

I would get the money to buy another wintel machine if someone would bring back X-Com the way it should be.

Nothing has made me jump like those little aliens!

They need to update XCOM:UFO defense so it runs on modern hardware. Otherwise the gameplay is fantabulous.

Agreed.

I would suggest Final Fantasy 2 (US Version)
Champaions of Krynn (Computer)
The other many D&D games made SSI back in the day. :)
