Old shows that you enjoy?

Wow. Seeing "My Secret Identity" in that list reminded me of another show, with an at the time relatively unknown actor; Jessica Alba in the remake of "Flipper." That took me down a rabbit hole on IMDB. I noticed that she wasn't in a third of the episodes and wondered why. A little searching turned up that she had been KIDNAPPED FROM THE SET and then found in the trunk of a car, so she left the series. The kidnappers were never caught.

I remember maybe 1/3 of those shows. For many of them there's a reason they were forgotten.

The original isn't forgotten, but the 1991 remake? I had definitely forgotten about it. It does remind me, however, of the one season show on Fox that was based on "Vampire: The Masquerade" called "Kindred: The Embraced."

I didn't even realize that was about the remake. I should learn to pay more attention.

The old I Spy TV series holds up very well. It's been a favorite since I was a kid. I don't recommend it to people anymore, though, because Bill Cosby is in it. And there's just no getting around that ick.

Wizards and Warriors was a short-lived series from 1983, that was partially inspired by Dungeons & Dragons (and if Tunnels & Trolls wasn't an influence, I'll eat my hat). I dig that one a lot.

I've been trying to remember the name of this series for years! I haven't seen it since it ran but I have some memories of really enjoying it back then.

I particularly liked this guy.

Thanks.

Every now and then I think back to the cartoons I watched in the 80s, a lot of these I remember but a lot I'd have not thought of if this playlist didn't already include the intro for them.

Jeff Conaway was in that. Burned too many bridges on Taxi with his drug abuse and ended up ruining what could have been a good career. Going from Taxi to Wizard and Warriors?

I hate the framing they did with that (while at the same time understanding why they did so). Frame the article as you the reader are special (cue endorphin rush) if you remember this completely-not-obscure thing (people don't remember The Real Ghostbusters, really? or Aaron Sorkin's first showrunning experience? or the first show/movie mentioned on Tom Hanks' wikipedia page?).

That said, it's kinda surprising if Ghostbusters, Thirtysomething, Bosom Buddies, or Sports Night aren't available on streaming. Talk Soup was very current events, so I get it being very popular but now discarded. Small Wonder and Kidd Video and such pretty much exist for 'do you remember?'-style list articles. Alien Nation is one of those that seems to be the perfect watershed for streaming -- any more well-remembered or watchable and it'd be streamed where ever people on this thread are watching Warehouse 13 and Stargate Atlantis. But instead it's in the dustbin of remembered-but-unseen with Tek War and Manimal.
