Old TSR writers. What happened to 'em?

I'm just wondering what happened to a lot of the old TSR writers of 1st and 2nd Edition AD&D (and Basic D&D).

Here's a couple I've thought of off the top of my head:

Carl Sargent
Lisa Smedman
Nigel Finlay
Aaron Allston

I'd be fascinated to know what these guys are doing now and if they're still in the RPG industry (or at least playing RPGs!).

I mean, there's some old names I've seen that have appeared in some d20 products; like: David Cook; Timothy Brown; Jim Ward; Matt Forebeck; Chris Pramas. These folks have been doing d20 stuff (to a lesser or greater extent).

Also, there's some folks like Colin McComb and Wolfgang Baur who appeared in Beyond Countless Doorways.

By all means add more names to the list!

Aaron Allston writes Star Wars novels in the Rogue Squadron line last I read.

He also did the latest version of Champions, the only RPG work he has done in a long time.

I believe Carl Sargent was about to start working on Shadowrun books when he was involved in a bad auto accident. I don't remember the details, as this is all second- or third-hand but I don't think he's able to write anymore...

I hope I'm mis-remembering.

I'm also curiouos where some of the regular Dungeon contributors are and what they are up to. I know Willie Walsh posts here...I wonder where Steve Kurtz is, he used to write some great adventures.

Interesting--I heard somebody on Greytalk once say he had a panic attack on an airplane and then he left gaming forever. Dunno.

...Len Lakofa(sp?)...

Heard about him from EGG. LL was so disgusted with the 3rd Edition of D&D he gave up the D&D game altogether and went back to his old hobby of bridge. Yes, that is the truth.

I truly wish I knew why Roger Moore left gaming...he was one of the Dragon Trinty (Ed Greenwood and Gary Gygax being the other two). I was very surprised he didn't involve himself in a d20 endeavor. He must have been burned out or something.
