Old TSR writers. What happened to 'em?

If I'm not mistaken, Scott Bennie is still in the industry and posts to these boards as MulhorandSage.

Testament
Trojan War
Magic & Mayhem

I think he also did some champions thingy recently.

The one quote out of Steve's posts at Dragonsfoot that grabbed me was this:

Gary Gygax was way too patient with people. If you quit working at TSR they just moved you to the warehouse -- without cutting your pay. It wasn't until the "massacre" that they fired anyone. Simple test: name two projects you've worked on in the past year. Anyone who couldn't name one project got fired. Can you imagine being at work for a year and not working on anything?

Good Lord! Gary is a teddy bear! :D

Steve Marsh just a few days ago popped up over @ Dragonsfoot. He's been dishing out the dirt of what the early days of TSR, and it's employees were really like. Very interesting discussion.

Dirt is banned on EN World!

(P.S. Sorry about the "name name's thread", everybody. It was in bad taste. :o

Aside from designing the original Testament mass combat systems and Piety systems that were adapted in Trojan War, I had no involvement in that book. Trojan War is Aaron Rosenberg's baby, and a very nice piece of work it is too.

Roger E. Moore pretty much left gaming completely after his layoff from TSR, even going so far as to sell all of his gaming books/etc. This was to make a fresh start/career in a non-gaming editing job IIRC.

to put out some names i have not yet seen on this board (at least i dont think i saw them)
Allen Hammak and Harold johnson
they were part of the slave lords series and it would be interesting to fint out about them

Harold Johnson's still around a bit--he's doing some work for the 3E RAVENLOFT line (one of the few hopes the line has left under the current regime, alas).

Matthew L. Martin

Scott Bennie's work rocks!! Sorry... weak fanboy moment, there.

Seriously, I am really looking forward to Gestalt, and am thrilled that you are dual-statting it with M&M; as much as I love HERO, it is easier to get my d20 group to play M&M... I will check out the new VIPER, also- I did not realize that you were doing that one- writing? co-writing?
