Older adventure modules with good story/plot.

UK4 When A Star Falls. Best AD&D module of all time.

Wow, someone else who ran that! I had a lot of fun with that module, though unfortunately I wasn't able to finish it. I was worried, though, about the ending. It seemed like a TPK waiting to happen.

For my money, one of the best modules of all time is B7 Rahasia. The storyline with the trapped witches and the Rahib has tons of potential, and the witches make wonderful adversaries if they take an active role. I've DMed it three times, and each time was a blast.

S3: The Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth
WG5: Mordankainen's Fantastic Adventure
T1: The Village of Hommlett

These were fun to play and are critical to the back story of the Greyhawk setting.

Allow me to second Against the Cult of the Reptile God

I think, When a Star Falls has some cool ideas and scenes, but was a little too much of an adventure where NPC A needs something from NPC B before they help the PCs, while B of course needs help from source C, and so on. . . My players found it tiresome. . . If I were ever to run it again, I would find some way to either stretch it out over time breaking it up with shorter unaffliated adventures, or truncate it some.

I am a big fan of Tracy and Laura Hickman's Desert of Desolation series (Pharaoh, Oasis of the White Palm and The Lost Tomb of Martek.) It introduced me to the whole concept of an series of modules telling a story as opposed to the hack and slash dungeon crawls that I was used to.

Nice writeups. Will there be more?
Thanks. Yes, there are a lot more. I have a lot of irons in the fire, right now, so I'm writing up the sessions from my notes as I find time (and inspiration). I'm glad you enjoyed the writeups, thus far. :)
