Omega World - Yeah!

You know, every time a new Poly comes out, the mini-game for that month is my New Favorite Game(tm). Last time, it was Spelljammer (which I think is brilliant). This time, with the release of Omega World, I think the Poly crew has gone one better...
Not only is Omega World a great adaptation of Gamma World (or at least, what I vaguely remember of GW from, like, 12 years and 2 or 3 editions ago), but it is friggin' hysterical. Tweet says, in reference to an obvious lightsaber-type weapon, "I have to call it a Laser Sword, but that doesn't mean you have to." And that's just what I can remember off the top of my head. I usually skim the familiar lookin' parts of a new d20 system. Not this time - I read every word, hoping to find another zinger...
I don't recall off hand if you did the art direction again, Erik, but who ever chose Ramon Perez as one of the artists was a genius. I've loved his artwork since I first saw his stuff in some Rifts book - apparently, he has just the right style for a post-apocalyptic game world.
Anyway, I just wanted to weigh in with my opinion - Omega World is awesome! Keep up the great work, Erik and everyone else in Poly-land. Please pass along my kudos to Jonathon Tweet for a job well done. Now, if only my players and I got together more often so we had time to play all these cool games... *sigh*

I agree that this was one of the best adaptations I've seen yet. I initially had reservations about the explorer class, but after reading the mechanics of the class, those concerns were put to rest. Jaults, I know you liked the art, but honestly, thats the one area I wasn't completely thrilled with. I would have preferred to see some stuff that looked a little more like the Interplay game Fallout.

Other than the minor nitpick with the art, I absolutely love Omega World and will use it. Congrats to everyone involved.
