And so, our intrepid adventurers set out, four men on horseback, and one woman with coconuts on foot on the road heading east.

The road seems rather busy at this time, with a caravan or group passing you going the other way every hour or two. There seems to be discussion of some festival of some kind, and most of the people are smiling and offer a friendly wave as you pass.

Traffic is less on the second day, though you still pass the occasional cart. Early in the morning, you turn onto a road heading just west of south, and begin to make your way towards the Roars river crossing.

By the end of the day, you arive at an ancient stone bridge spanning the Roars. The river is narrower here, only about twenty yards across, but it runs swift and deep beneath the bridge. There is a clearing on the north side of the river not far from the bridge that seems to be oft used as a camping site. A wide meadow provides enough space for several tents or wagons around a large fire pit. The meadow is adequately sheltered from the wind and prying eyes by a copse of trees. It set back from the road and river, yet it still stays within a short walk of both. At the entrance to the campsite from the road is a narrow knee-high stone pillar.

"Ah, excellent", pronounced Oirhandir. "I was hoping that we'd make it to this campsite today. We're making good time."

He rode up to the plinth and pointed it out. "This is quite ancient, as old as the elders of my people", he pronounced. "This marks the turnoff of the old road to Fallon, which is now but a mere path that passes out of our campsite to the east." The elf sniffed the air, and rode near the bridge, searching for something. "The last time I was here, brigands held the bridge and demanded a toll from passers-by. Their leader's shirt now adorns my shoulders, and his ashes are somewhere near here. A sad end for a life lived poorly."

Satisfied that an ambush was not in the offering, the bard rode into the clearing. "Come", he called, "let us make a pleasant camp and rest our weary joints this evening." He dismounted, and helped the others to make camp.

"You kicked their asses hard, eh? maybe you should have chosen another road, if this one is cleared"

"Ah, that would be my job. Give me a couple minutes" says Nodis, and then concetrates on making camp (as described here)

Oirhandir chuckled. "Well, I did have plenty of help. Truth was, I was in the rear of the caravan, and though I rode hard, the fight was over by the time I could get to it! The orc was most impressive, with the way he wielded that polearm." He paused. "And make no mistake, this is the right road. Why, it leads right to my Scarlet, and right now, there's no other road I'd rather be on."

Oirhandir gaped. "You did that yesterday, didn't you? Are you going to do that everynight?" The elf shook his head and smiled. "You'll spoil us all. What need have we of inns when we have such luxury under the stars?" Oirhandir was proud of his ability with magic, but he had to concede that Nodis's skills far surpassed his own.

"Ah, well." replies Nodis. "I hope something interesting happens then. Doesn´t have to be a fight, mind you: I´m starting to realize there are many things to see."

Oirhandir gaped. "You did that yesterday, didn't you? Are you going to do that everynight?"

"Why not? It´s actually quite easy to do. Wood, rope, dry fruit, oil, sugar... vegetable matter has this simplicity... stone and metal, or even leather, on the other hand, are quite difficult to visualize, and I can´t create them yet." answers Nodis.

"Inns have hot meals, a roof and beds that don´t dissapear under you..." shrugs Nodis with a smile.

" Non the less I appreciate the luxury, your arts are truly impressive."

Aiken goes and grooms Ruffels.
