Oirhandir does indeed awaken in the morning, though he is sore, stiff, and groggy.

OOC: Oirhandir is at 0 HP, I gave him 1 HP bonus for being under care for part of the evening.

OOC: Everyone earns 270 XP plus one month's time (150 for Lupic, Oirhandir, and Nodis, 50 for Kali and Aiken). If anyone advances, let me know when you're approved.

Oirhandir's eyes slowly opened. Silently, he glanced around to all his companions, especially Kali. He coughed several times, clearing the blood from his throat. Finally, he spoke, although the words barely came out.

"I owe you all my life. My spirit was headed south...what an evil beast that was." The elf took a few ragged breaths. "I must try to heal myself...tend to me if I fail." With that, the elf began speaking in an odd tongue, reminiscent of the speech of dragons. His hands wandered over his body, exploring his wounds, molding flesh as they went. Finally, he fell silent again, and his head lolled back onto the cloak that Kali had folded into a makeshift pillow. She bent forward to examine him, but a strong hand reached up and grasped her arm.

"I am well now, or at least much less infirm." He sat up, surprisingly strong for one who was so near death. Again, he gazed about the camp.

"Had it not been for the trouble on the bridge on the journey to Covington, I might have been foolish enough to attempt this by myself. Having learned better, I sought brave travellers to aid my travel to Rheim. I know now that I have chosen well...a fine company is assembled tonight. I pray that I never need repay any of you in kind, but know that if I can, I will. I am in your debt." He rose to his feet, shakily at first, then with more strength. "Please tell me none other fell to that wolf-creature..." He glanced around assuring himself that all his companions were alive. "Do any others need healing? Are any of you badly hurt?" After examining his companions, Oirhandir concluded that his wounds were still worse than Lupic's, and went through the little ritual with himself again, this time sitting while he chanted.[sblock=OoC Stuff]Starting at 0 hp and casting Cure Light Wounds as a standard action. The action causes him to lose 1 hp, putting him at -1, but he heals d3+3=5 hp, putting him at 4. That means he's still down 11, so he casts Cure Light a second time, this time healing d8+3=9 points and putting him back up to 13.[/sblock]

"We barely deserve those words..." says Nodis with a sad face. "We should have been able to stop the beast before it attacked you. You see, you were unconscious when you took that wound... to the face... your spells are great, but..." ends the yound psion, his words carrying a good deal of sorrow.

"No, no", Oirhandir interrupted, "Surely I'd be in the belly of that...thing this very moment had you not..." The elf's voice trailed off. "Did you kill it, or just drive it off?", he asked, looking around for a corpse.

[sblock=Nope! ]Oirhandir's roll is a d20=5+2 (Wis) = 7. He's clueless![/sblock]

Nodis, male human bastard 3, AC 16, HP 21/21, PP 5/17

"Actually, it turned into a wolf and fled." says Nodis. "But we, er, were actually worried by you know, that scar in your face. How much would you say you girlfriend loves you?"

Oirhandir touched one of the marks on his chin that he hadn't bothered to heal, saving the magic for the truly life-threatening wounds. "This little thing?", he asked incredulously. "That's nothing. I'll heal it tomorrow when I renew my spells, if it offends you that much." His voice changed as he discussed Scarlet, as he viewed the question with suspicion. "As for Scarlet, how can any say how much he is truly loved? Yet, she regarded me warmly enough when we were in Covington for me to undertake this journey, is that not enough? There are no guarantees in life or in love, save that if one does not try one is doomed to fail. Why would you be so concerned? Your care is touching, but I do not need you to ensure my wooing is successful, as that is between Scarlet and myself. No, I need you to help keep me safe on the highway, and you demonstrated your skill and ability in that regard quite well earlier this night. I cannot even promise you the hospitality of Scarlet's home, you may end up spending your time in Rheim, enjoying the city. So why do you trouble yourself so over my prospects in love?"

Damn, the elf spoiled a really good joke. thinks Nodis, smiling, while missing Oihandir´s entire speech. Perhaps I´m more used to Rurik and Eusebius. This one thinks differently, or maybe I wasn´t blunt enough

"Uh? oh, just something that crossed my mind. Nothing serious, really." says finally.

"By the way, what kind of thing was that? We saw it turning into a wolf, and we don´t like how it sounds, since, you kow, it bite you."

"What he means to say is that we think that it was a werewolf, and if that is the case we would do well to look for someone with a more spiritual mind, if you catch my drift.

We wouldn't want you to turn into one somewhere in our journey."

says Aiken.
