Complete Book of Eldritch Might
SRD
Denizens of Avadnu
BoED and BoVD? PH2 and SpC? Some kind of splats, I'm not sure.
Spycraft (probably 2.0 when the next printing comes out)

True20
True20 Companion
True Bestiary
Worlds of Adventure
Conan
And... uh... Legends of Excalibur for True20 maybe...? eBook but, hey! ;)

Only own Conan and True20 core book so far but I'll get around to buy most of the other stuff as well. I'd definitely consider swapping the last three books for a bunch of comics to inspire new adventures and worlds. :)

1. Wilderlands Box Set
2. Ptolus
3. World's Largest Dungeon
4. Shackled City AP
5. Rappan Athuk Reloaded
6. Fiend Folio

Actually, with just these 6 plus the core 3, you'd have about 10 years of weekly gaming....

D20 only? So much for HERO 5th!

I think I know the Core books well enough to fudge all that stuff, so:

1) Mutants & Masterminds 2Ed- the closest thing to HERO in D20, its flexible enough to run any genre of RPG, including fantasy.
2) Second World Sourcebook
3) Arcana Evolved
4) Midnight 2
5) Expanded Psionics Handbook
6) Northern Crown

That, of course is just for RPG purposes...

If I were really practical, I'd have to include things like the Book of All Spells. Despite my actually liking the product, I'd take it along because its simply huge. All that paper would undoubtedly come in handy for all kinds of things...

You know...

Do I have to spell it out?

Kindling!

This question is ridiculous! Not because I won't get trapped on a desert island with 6 books though, because that's happened to me several times already. It's ridiculous because the intention behind the question is "What books would you live on minimalistically?", but the practical answer is "The books I can get the most entertainment out of". Let's not kid ourselves, our favorite books will not entertain us for an indefinite amount of time with nothing else to do save contract malignant melanoma. Our favorite books are our favorite books because we've read them, cover to cover, probably many times. I don't know about the rest of you, but I could reproduce a good portion of the SRD given a sufficiently rambling notebook or complicated system of line drawings in the sand. Why would I bring the core books with me? Maybe I cannot perfectly play D&D with my imaginary desert island friends unless I have the core rules for reference, but they're not going to entertain me. The same is true of any book I have.

Give me books I haven't read, in other words.
