...speaking of which, I will just add that Aridha in spider form is pretty freaking deadly in a Darkness spell. We may want to borrow this strategy sometime. :)

Damien is truly excited that he has a partner in crime with his darkness spell. Although I was surprised you didn't attack Grimjaws given the were thing.

She's testing her new gear, as it were, before going for the big tamale.

Also, it turns out that the giant spider venom does half damage on a successful save, so the Reaver does take some damage, unless he has immunity.

Creamsteak, if Grimjaw failed his Wisdom saving throw for Dent's Abjure Enemy, Grimjaw's speed should be 0. If that's the case, Grimjaw wouldn't be able to move during the surprise round.

EDIT: Of note, the frightened condition (PHB 290) would additionally mean Grimjaw has disadvantage on ability checks and attack rolls while the source of its fear is within line of sight, and Grimjaw couldn't willingly move closer to Dent.

That said, one out for you is that I haven't a clue whether Grimjaw failed or made his Wisdom save. Dent only knows that Grimjaw is afraid, which leds me to believe Dent's Abjure Enemy attempt was successful. I also am not privy to any help a reaver or the blue-skinned woman may have given Grimjaw (unlikely, since the reavers didn't get to act in the surprise round and the woman cast and moved? ).

Let me know, please. It'll change Dent's action for Round 1.

Ah, whenever I looked up frightened all I saw was the disadvantage (looking online), and I assumed that was it.

Updated IC to reflect that.

It's a special addition to Abjure Enemy. I'm interested to see how this works out, I don't think I've ever seen a Vengence Paladin use Abjure Enemy. As long as no one attacks him, it's actually incredibly useful if we want to try to mop up everyone else first.

My intent was to prevent Grimjaw from escaping so that Tolan and Dent can open up a can of whoop ass on him. No clue if it'll work out, but I figured it was worth a shot.

I'm learning all this, too, so thanks for your patience.
