D&D 5E [OOC] A Light Hearted Princes of Elemental Evil Hack and Slash

Hrm. I guess the intent is for them to be different creature's, though I find that kind of lame. That said, I guess I'll go with the ruling they are different for now.

Cool, thanks. That makes my decision to go pact of the Tome much easier ;-)
So what's your leveling philosophy? Since we don't really talk about experience points, I was just wandering when we can expect to level up.
Thanks and cheers,

You actually can switch evocations, but only when you level up. PHB page 107 under the Eldrich Evocation heading [sblock]Additionally, w hen you gain a level in this class,
you can ch o o se one o f the invocations you know and
replace it with another invocation that you could learn
at that level.[/sblock]
Wow, I've read that section a ton of times and never noticed that... thanks for illuminating that. I did know about the spells.

Lots of cantrips are fun. I built a concept character a few days ago who focuses on "Inherent Magic" and is a multiclass druid/bard/sorcerer. The number of cantrips gets pretty entertaining. I think someone figured out you could potentially get 35 of the 37 (numbers are probably a bit off, straight from memory) cantrips if built correctly.

Regarding the invocations, I think this rule was pretty much a necessity for pact of the book and pact of the chain, since you would have needed to wait until level 5, when you get your third invocation, to take advantage of book of ancient secrets and voice of the chain master evocations. Book of ancient secrets really makes the pact of the book shine, and if you couldn't change out evocations, the benefit from the pact alone would be fairly lame...

Yeah, I love the flexibility cantrips give you. To me, it makes spell casters feel like true masters of arcane magic since they can summon arcane power at will.

Wuh? Aw...whaaaaat? What's the rush? You'd think we were going to lev...

*reads back a bit and immediately sits up straight and hurls the blanket away*

ON IT.

[MENTION=23484]Kobold Stew[/MENTION], I have a metagaming proposal for you,

Carradoc has 3 rituals: Comprehend Languages, Find Familiar & Tenser's Floating Disk.
If Thaliss takes pact of the book & book of ancient secrets, he has access to 2 new rituals. I really want find familiar, but it seems to me that I should take 2 different ones for party versatility. So, would you (and Carradoc) be open to trade: I show you mine and you show me yours? I'd be able to add your rituals to my book and vice versa.

If you're open to this, I'll pick detect magic and Unseen servant. If not, I'll just go with detect magic and find familiar.
Cheers,

SG
