D&D 5E [OOC] A Light Hearted Princes of Elemental Evil Hack and Slash

The roofs in Rivergard are usually 12 feet up, so I assume that's the distance between the ground on the first floor and the ground on the second floor.

[MENTION=23484]Kobold Stew[/MENTION], I have a metagaming proposal for you,

Carradoc has 3 rituals: Comprehend Languages, Find Familiar & Tenser's Floating Disk.
If Thaliss takes pact of the book & book of ancient secrets, he has access to 2 new rituals. I really want find familiar, but it seems to me that I should take 2 different ones for party versatility. So, would you (and Carradoc) be open to trade: I show you mine and you show me yours? I'd be able to add your rituals to my book and vice versa.

If you're open to this, I'll pick detect magic and Unseen servant. If not, I'll just go with detect magic and find familiar.
Cheers,

SG

Short answer: Yes.

Slightly Longer answer: I've even got a personality trait that motivates him building his spell book; Carradoc would expect nothing less.

Part of why I wanted to play a wizard in this game was the book-building game, which is not something I've done i a long time; I often play Clerics and Rogues, and so (in a party that needed both) I built a rogue-y wizard. I'll see if it works out.

I love unseen Servant; it's an amazing spell, and in the first draft of my character, I had it and not Find Familiar. So yes, we can trade.

Correction made. And Dent did make his concentration save to maintain bane.

If she had rolled a 4 instead of a 3 on her penalty, she would have missed grimmjaw.

roll test. five rolls.

[roll0]
[roll1]
[roll2]
[roll3]
[roll4]

Nope, that works fine. I don't know what's going on IC. I keep screwing something up, or it doesn't like the rolls I'm trying.

first attack 1d20+6
advantage 1d20+6
damage 1d8+6

second attack 1d20+6
damage 1d8+6

I'm at an XC meet. Will post for Dent in a couple hours. Was bummed that Abjure Enemy ended, but Dent telling the group not to attack Grimmjaw was a necessity given our newness around one another and stated actions in the IC. We got three rounds of quasi hold person out of it, which was three more rounds than we walked into the encounter with. Plus, from the DM's perspective it's gotta be totally irritating to have the BBEG out of commission right from the start.

More later from me.

I need a rules adjudication before I post for Dent. I want to maintain concentration on bane, attack with the longsword, not move, continue to use Fighting Style (Protection) on Thaliss with Dent's reaction, and use Divine Smite on Grimmjaw if I roll a successful attack roll to hit Grimmjaw. I think Dent can do all of that this round.

Questions:
1) Will Divine Smite require Dent to relinquish his concentration on bane[/]? My reading says no.
2) I can make the attack roll and then decide if I want to burn a use of Divine Smite, right? My reading says yes.
