D&D 5E [OOC] A Light Hearted Princes of Elemental Evil Hack and Slash

Oh yeah, just to note: I don't have a problem with the change. I just don't think it's going to solve the IF/THEN problem, which I think was the intent of the change.

Wait, did Damien and Dent get to act at the end of that round before we moved on? I'm unclear.

My apologies for making everything more confusing. Because of the cyclic nature of initiative I tend not to care too much about "rounds" or initiative rolls themselves. The priest just went, so we're here:

Dent 9
Damien 8
Thaliss 23
Tolan 21
Aridha 21
Carradoc 17
Bandits 14
Reaver 13
Priest 11

That actually puts us in the 'Us' and then 'Them' paradigm, without changing anything. So I assumed we were ready for all players to post actions. (Technically we're behind an action on our druid, but ignoring that). I did ignore the possibility that someone might hit the priest, 'cause I'm not that smart (Just a barbarian, after all).

The problem, not that it really is one, is that the change probably should have happened at the top of the next round. Dent and Damien still had their actions left from the 2nd Round when the decision was made to go to a free initiative system. If we're free-timing it from the 3rd round on, I guess that means that Damien and Dent will get to go again before the enemy.

I owe an action for Dent. I need a look at my PHB before I can post--hunter's mark isn't in the basic rules .pdf. I'll check the PHB when I get home, 6:30 pm eastern US. More from me later.

I didn't change how we are handling combat for this. I believe Damien and Dent are up to speed once they both take actions for after the Priest's. Either way, I hope it will look less messy in the future.

At this point, there's one Reaver left and three incompetents.

Regarding Hunter's Mark, I think this is it:

You choose a creature you can see within range and mystically mark it as your quarry. Until the spell ends, you deal an extra 1d6 damage to the target whenever you hit it with a weapon attack, and you have advantage on any Wisdom (Perception) or Wisdom (Survival) check you make to find it. If the target drops to 0 hit points before this spell ends, you can use a bonus action on a subsequent turn of yours to mark a new creature.

And your Quarry is still up.
