(OOC) D&D 3.5 - Paridon: The Dark Metropolis (Ravenloft)

Everyone,

I'm going to move on the action, but that's mainly because it's Halloween. Feel free to interrupt the action I post tonight to do things you need to. I'll edit my post as necessary.

Happy Halloween!

Torhan turns his eyes to Ru. "It might do well to pay this 'boss' a visit. It is obvious that he must know something more about this crime. What do you know of him and his men?

jkason: Feel free to answer this as you like. I've already set up the plot elements needed, so add on whatever you need to answer this question. As long as Ari, Gis, Lug, and the Strahd Street Irregulars stay in place, and the racketeering they've done remain, then your answer will work with the plot. I'll even find ways to intertwine your elements into the plot more.

That goes for anyone else, too. I started by developing the plot and actions before asking for the PCs, and then looked for ways for the PCs' backgrounds to connect with the plot. If you wish to add to your background in game, go right ahead. Just two quick things to keep in mind:

* Don't contradict background we've previously established.
* I reserve the right to twist it in ways you and your PC may have been previously unaware of.

By the way, what are people planning to do at this time? The carriage is going by Ada's home, there has been talk of dropping her off, not dropping her off, and some of you have shown interest in questioning others. Come up with a plan of action, and I'll move the plot forward. You can split up, too, that won't be a problem.

Darian is going to have a look around, specifically at the jester and the butcher.

It's clear that not only Ada but also her father are at risk. Abass will suggest that they be placed in protective custody for the duration of the investigation. Now, the question is whether or not he'll just blurt that out, or if he'll have a quiet word with one of the more charismatic PCs.

Torhan would like to investigate the clocktower, but it is also quite clear that we can't leave Ada unguarded.

Can we get some NPC deputies to keep watch on her?

How visible are people in the carriage?

Ideally, Father Berman would like to take Ada home, but not leave her there. Instead, if there's a sneaky way to exit, she and her father will do so and get back into the carriage but be hidden; they are small after all. Then there will have to be a stakeout of her house, and probably at least some PCs would have to participate in that, but it would be best to use plainclothes gnomes or something - but with powerful backup.

Perhaps NPC deputies could be summoned by sending a messenger from the clock tower.

The carriage seats six comfortably (Ada's small, so she can fit in without crowding). There are curtains and shutters that can be drawn over the windows in the carriage if you wish. The carriage is pulled by four light warhorses, and an NPC driver and an NPC enforcer are seated in front of the carriage cabin, outside.

You're essentially only half a minute (tops) from Ada's home, moving away from the clocktower square. Time to move the action and discussion IC.

We have theme music!

Imagine the credits rolling with this song. Maksim Mrvica's interpretation of Franz Liszt's Totentanz.

(I'm working on my next post, too. Should be up in a day.)
