The bobble she had holding her hair in a tail; she pulls it out in frame 8.
Ohhhh, that makes more sense. I thought it was one of the piercings-- like he'd grabbed it for a handhold, and didn't let go when he threw her.

Your answer makes it far less of an ouch.

I missed the "thunk" at the end of the strip; I thought they were much higher up than they apparently were.

Still, at so low a height, her DR will eat most of the falling damage, so I question the wisdom of pushing her rather than using his sword (metal or otherwise ;)) on her while her guard is down.

Right, Roy threw her out the window so that Rich could use her again later. I'd be really surprised if she died.

Did it? I thought they always avoided the whole conservation of momentum issue to save argument about whether people went splat when teleporting a significant distance on account of the world's rotation and curvature...

Heh, yeah, the Running Start issue. Usually glossed over for the sake of simplicity. Similar to the Empty Position issue with time travel. I want to travel back in time, oh, say a thousand years to go fishing. Boot up the ol' time machine and *bamf* ... wind up in hard vacuum, because the planet isn't there yet.

Of course, she could teleport over a body of water...
Not over. Into. Like NiT said, surface tension hurts.
