10 + the monster's HD, and one needs a caster level of 11 or higher to become a lich - so the DC would be 21 at least. It's kinda wonky given the scaling nature of the lich/character level interaction, but 21 would make sense as a starting point.

You also have to remember that Knowledge is a "trained only" skill. You can't even make the check, unless you got ranks in it. Durkon, Elan, Vaarsuvius and Miko all have it available as class skills... But we can't honestly say any of them have invested in it. It's certainly not the first skill that players typically drop skill points into.

Am I really the only one in the "Miko should, after making a few terrible mistakes, realize the error of her ways, develop some humility, and become an ally of the Order when push finally comes to shove" faction? Frankly, I think that would be a much more interesting character arc, and be much more satisfying in the long run, than either of the other options.

No.

I really don't understand the Miko hate. Actually, if there is anyone I am tired of it is Belkar.

So we've got the "Miko should fall to evil!" faction, and the "Miko should die!" faction.

Then allow me to form the "Miko should die AND fall to evil!" faction. Death Knight blackguards for the win!

Loved the lightsabers in the last panel and the "gluttony" joke.

Count me in. I like the Miko character.

Got your back on this, rodent!

"Falling to Evil" and "Realizing the Error of her Ways" aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.

Anakin Skywalker certainly managed to do both, after all.

The entire skywalker family has the "whiny" gene. Please don't bring them into it.

That being said, I like Miko the way she is. Any drastic change to the character would make her decidedly less interesting (either by turning her into a blackguard evil person, or turning her into a nice guy ally).

She's a jerk.
She's arrogant.
She's an antagonist.
She's a paladin.
She's Lawful Good.

I've a feeling that all of those things will remain true until her end, whenever that might be. And contrition from her is less likely than Xykon remembering Roy's name.

Let's face it: She's the antagonist that nobody is supposed to like. Xykon has his evilgasms, Redcloak has his goblin 401k's, and the Secret Weapon has his long-denied agoraphilia. They're all sympathetic characters, even if they are the Bad Guys.

Miko? She just sucks. And she'll keep on just sucking. And the only way that will happen is if she stays a paladin, stays Good, and stays alive.

I don't like it, but that's the whole point: I'm supposed to not like it.

Nope. I join the rallying cry for Lawful Good, but slightly intolerant of OoTS silliness, Miko!
