I think KB meant that Paks had encountered fear before she was a paladin, so even though she was no longer affected by fear, the memory and knowledge of it made her a better paladin.

Correct me if I'm wrong, KB.

partly that, yes, but also the distinction between magical and natural fear. Paks feels natural fear even after her paladinhood, but doesn't let it stop her. The overall message, imo was that bravery is not the lack of fear, its being afraid and doing what has to be done anyway.

An interesting possibility. Are you saying that the 'Wearer of the Crimson Cloak' may actually be a title given to a priest of the Snarl itself, and that Redcloak is trying to trick Xykon into opening a gate to free the Snarl?
