Funny as the strip is, what's even more amusing is posters actually trying to apply D&D rules to a cartoon where someone can push over a Forcecage with the help of a horse :D

That all depends on how much sarcasm you read into his last panel.

For me, TCiD was using that same tone of voice my big brother always used when he "lost" games like that. :uhoh:
Note the "eyebrows" of tCiD. It's clearly dismayed at losing.

Letting someone win on purpose isn't cheating. It's like an adult letting a child win at basketball.
Isn't it a little more like an adult telling a child they are going to play a "who can hit the softest" game and then punching them as hard as possible in the face? ;)

More like an WWII G.I. learning of Hitler's secret war plan, then being impeded of escaping bt a Nazi soldier, who invites the G.I. to a "hit the softest" game, to which the G.I. plans to punch the Nazi on the face.

Yeah, I pulled the Nazi card in a paladin thread! :D

In other words, a situation in which most people consider it acceptable to cheat, because the stakes are high enough. :p

"I've only got two data points... sure, parabolic!" ;)

Actually, you've got three data points -- starting point, mid-air and end point. That's just enough to describe a parabola, if it is one... And for ballistic objects, it's usually pretty close (drag can throw it off a bit).

This is so totally nitpicky i just hate myself!

How is Rich on continuity? I feel like he's normally pretty good...

Before Miko gets hit, she has at least one weapon drawn. She had both drawn a moment before, but is using one hand to stage whisper to her mount. So we should maybe assume she sheathed the wakizashi* and kept out the katana*?

When she lands, she has no weapon at all.

So did she lose it, or sheathe it?

Just pondering the imponderable.....

*pure speculation on my part

Having never fallen involuntarily (or even voluntarily) from a great height, I couldn't tell you if I could clutch weapons while doing so. Maybe holding onto them would make things worse. I wouldn't want to be stabbed by my own weapons! (I mean, the falling damage would be lethal anyway, but why make things worse?)
