Are you possibly offended and seriously asking this, or are you trying to accuse me of something?

It's not political, it's a reference to the right/conservative and left/liberal ways of behavior/thinking. A conservative, by definition, is merely someone who is resistant to change. I think Rich Burlew was alluding to the exact same thing I was.

I was not using the political context of the word and, indeed, I don't think it would even make sense in context.
