OotS #431

regarding Darkness-critter (He's a GRUE!) I don't believe he's actually that stupid (no, wait, a Wumpus!) but i DO believe he has significant... perception problems (a kender?). He seems to continuously fail Spot, and Listen checks, (a flumph!) but at the same time he has demonstrated tiny, tiny shreds of intellect in the past...

No, i think he's rreally that stupid / inattentive.

Maybe its a SHADDE...:)

or possibly a shaddow

Incorporeal creatures do not typically hurl paladins through stone walls and across mountain ranges. :D

And #3, is the Creature Hidden in Darkness faking it's stupidity? I can't imagine it's so stupid as to completly forget everything Redcloak just told it seconds ago, when it looked as if he understood at first ("How did you get them to look exactly like Xykon?").

I think he has Alzheimer's.

His long-term memory seems to work out OK, as he still remembers the basics -- like who is Xykon, who is Redcloak, and what spells are on the cleric's list -- but his short-term memory is faulty. For a very little while, he remembers stuff that was just said, but then it's not committed to long-term memory and forgotten.

Xykon must be pretty old as lich... these aren't usually too skeletal either.

But then, Roys father knew him when he was alive.
