I suppose you're right; (s)he's probably holed up somewhere. The classic "trying something crazy but heroic that just might work" doesn't strike me as V's style. Wouldn't it be cool if (s)he did, though?

My guess is that V is on the elephant - after the failure of Haley's dramatics, it's the ONLY possible explanation

The only strip that didn't reinforce the impression Azure City was doomed was the one with the legion of ghost-martyrs.

Presumably, all they'll manage to do is distract Xykon until O-Chul gets freed from his paralysis and smash the sapphire, destroying the gate and forcing Xykon to go look for yet another gate. In the meantime, the hobgoblin legions will wipe out all the Azurite that haven't been evacuated before the assault, though.

Unfortunately for O-Chul, lich paralysis is permanent until dispelled.

Remove paralysis will work, though; it's also lower level and available to any moderately wise 8th level paladin.

As for the miss-miss-miss thing -- I just saw nearly that very thing happen!

A while ago, I loved the comic but disliked *all* of the characters.

Now, I've decided that I really like both Hinjo and Redcloak. I'm still not sure about Haley, though.
