OotS #459 (Wednesday)

Considering Redcloak and Xykon are running out of spells, I'm guessing they're going to need backup relatively soon...

...And since Tsukiko's gotten rid of that pesky chlorine elemental, she should be on her way...

I figure Xykon and Redcloak will beat all the Azure Guard, except maybe Soon. At which point the OotS catapult thru the window for a final showdown. Roy will be involved in the fight as a ghost.

That hooded figure beside Soon... I just wonder who they are. They seem tough too.

You know what proves it even more? All the times they call him a sorcerer. :p

He's not smart enough to be a wizard, and has social skills. Of course he's a sorcerer.

Sure, she's been in the cell praying all this time, but an illusion of Miko sitting still has got to be easier than an illusion of Belkar throwing random taunts

An illusion can't break a demon's neck.

Damn it! Forgot all about that scene. And I guess there's been no opportunity for her to switch places since then, has there?

Ah, well. To paraphrase David Eddings, so many good theories have to be abandoned just because they won't work. ;)

Redcloak in jerk mode specifically cast a Blade Barrier spell to keep her away (and let her be killed by the elemental).

I was thinking Sacred Watchers, myself. The Deathless aren't incorporeal, are they?

There are no incoporeal deathless in the ECS, no, but like the undead type I wouldn't be surprised if there were some incoporeal deathless.

And I didn't actually think deathless were an Eberron creation. I read about them first in the Book of Exalted Deeds. *looks it up* Yup, there they are on page 157. And according to the copyright, BoED came out in October 2003 and the ECS in June 2004.

Yeah. It it significant that the hooded figure isn't surrounded by an aura and Soon is?

I don't think it's significant because in earlier panels with other ghosts Soon is the only one surrounded by that aura. It's special to him, and the lack of it on the hooded figure is not special.

Yep, and they're actually slightly different. The Ghost-Martyrs are closer to the BoED deathless than to the Eberron deathless. Still, Redcloak's comment is a reference to Eberron.

Exactly.

I expect the monster in the shadow to show up for the show-down.
The MitS (heh, his name is "Mitts") has been left behind outside of the city... If he comes, it won't be before the OotS arrives.
