Last time the gate was destroyed, in Xykon's mountain lair, the place exploded. I wonder if that will happen again.

I concur. About the only thing that got better for the OOTS is that Hinjo now has more reasons to stick with them without neglecting his duties.

There's still the issue of Belkar. By voluntarily associating with him, Hinjo would be in violation of the PHB pally code.

Depends. I think Belkar may have killed so many lawful evils that he might qualify as Chaotic Neutral.

Nope. The rifts, or "breaches" as I've been incorrectly referring to them as, are different then the gates.

I wonder if Miko realizes that she is now guilty of "weakening the fabric of the universe by destroying the magical gate located in" Azure City*... Precisely the crime, "for which the only possible sentence is death", that she was originally tracking down the Order of the Stick for.

Precisely. The most interesting part of this irony is that the outsider responcible for passing sentence on the OotS pronounced them not guilty "by virtue of it being strictly necessary at the time." Because Soon was winning, Miko's act was strictly unnecessary at the time. Lawfuls being what they are, the fact that Miko may have believed that it was necessary is unlikely to be a defence.
